Welcome
Treliggon Farm Holiday Cottage is situated just outside the village of Lanivet in the centre of Cornwall, with easy access to both the North and South coasts. Lanhydrock, a historical National Trust property, is a ten minute drive away, and boasts beautiful gardens and parkland as well as mountain bike trails to suit all abilities. The famous Eden Project is a short drive away and the spooky and historic Bodmin Jail is a ten minute drive away in the town of Bodmin.
Treliggon Farm dates back to the 17th century, and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. The farm was at one time surrounded by a huge forest, parts of which were felled to provide timber for ship building and mines. There are two stained glass windows in the village church that mention Treliggon Farm and the then owner, Mr Sobey.
The Cottage was a later addition and it is said that it was used to stable horses from the stage coaches that travelled up and down the country. In later years (after the end of stage coaches), The Cottage was used to house the farm animals, before being converted into a farm workers accommodation. The Cottage has again recently undergone sympathetic remodelling and renovating to bring it up to modern standards, but still retains a nod to it's past, with beams in the lounge, a log burner and traditional slate floors, but with the benefit of oil fired central heating, hot water and all mod cons.
The Cottage has three luxury good sized bedrooms, all with king sized beds, wardrobes, hairdryers and televisions. The master bedroom has an ensuite with shower, toilet and basin, and there is a family bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and basin.
Bedroom three has the flexibility to be configured as either a king sized bed, OR king sized bed and two single beds (family room), OR up to four single beds.
The kitchen is very well equipped with oven, hob, fridge freezer, wine cooler, microwave, toaster and coffee machine to enjoy home cooked meals. The kitchen table extends to seat up to 6, with additional seating in the lounge with another table and chairs.
The lounge has plenty of comfortable seating, a TV, DVD/blu ray player, board games and books. There is a log burner for the cooler evenings and this gives the lounge a lovely cozy feel.
The utility room has a washing machine, ironing facilities and a toilet.
Outside there is a large patio/garden with plenty of outdoor seating, where you can sit and enjoy the fresh Cornwall air. The charcoal bbq and outside dining area make alfresco dining easy and enjoyable and the games room gives children and adults hours of entertainment with the pool table, table football, darts and badminton set.
